Functional Training – Do’s and Dont’s

DO train your whole body in one session!

With functional training you don’t need to split your training for different muscle groups. Exercises such as squats and presses, deadlifts, variations on the battling ropes and use of the medicine ball will train the whole body in one go and have a wide range of benefits. The body is designed to work as a system, so to perform better it should be trained as a system, not a collection of individual parts.

DO use free weights!

Combine the rig with dumbbells or bands. This forces the body to support itself, providing a more effective, more functional workout.

DON’T copy!

Any first timers should seek professional advice when using the rig.

Using equipment incorrectly means you aren’t working out to your full potential or even worse, inflict injury.
